Shroud of the Avatar croons over its Bardic skill tree

If you know anything about us here at Massively OP, it’s that any news of Bards being added to MMOs brings the most beautiful music to our ears. So sing on, Shroud of the Avatar, as you proceed with testing your brand-new Bardic skill tree.

“The bard skill tree now has many skills available for testing on the Player Test Environment (QA) server,” Catnip Games said. “We’re hard at work adding visual and audio effects, but players can now experiment with many of these new abilities and provide crucial feedback to the development team on the Player Test Environment (QA) forums.”

Right now, Bards have five abilities to play with: an AoE enrage (Savage Sonata), a party-wide focus buff (Chorus of Conservation), and a trio of passive skills that affect abilities (Rhythmic Readiness, Resounding Reach, and Musical Fortitude).

Shroud of the Avatar recently handled a Mistrendur land rush through a carefully controlled process of reservations and vouchers.

Yeah, about this…

It amazes me how QA continues to be a complete mess despite the grand show about it by Elgarion and Ravalox.

These features aren’t even fully-developed and they are being pushed to live?

Even Starr Long has given a handwave when this was brought up by the remaining core players grouping up to describe the problem.

Thank you for this post. Please accept our apologies for the broken state of some content and rushed state of other content. We are discussing this thread internally and it will be our main topic at tomorrow’s team meeting.

That was on Feb 24. It doesn’t appear that anything came from the discussion, because that topic is about to fall off the front page of the GD forum.

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.” …for about 75 times, now.

Business as usual, in other words.

The picture used for the article, a person sitting and having a dress up tea party all alone, sums up SotA perfectly. Truly a time when a picture is worth more than a thousand words.

The seventeen people who still play will love the new skill tree.

Is it really that bad of a game?

It’s geared primarily to a handful of whales who whine at the lead dev to create their fantasy world. Nobody plays it

No, and it’s free, try it for yourself.

People do try it, and very few stay.

Here’s the link to the launcher, what the majority of players are using to play.

Some people here are really determined to discourage you from playing, as you can see. But it’s free so it’s easy enough to decide for yourself.

I, too, encourage people to try the game for themselves, to see if they can tolerate the laughably outdated graphics, clunky interface, myriad bugs, and the lead dev constantly and pathetically e-begging.
