Fan-made video shows off the importance of online connections in Final Fantasy XIV

Let’s be direct. Even if you have never played Final Fantasy XIV, you should probably watch this new short film from Toitoi Pictures entitled “Play Eorzea.” Because even though it’s about FFXIV – and it’ll have special resonance for people who recognize the housing, fights, landscapes, and interactions from that game – the emotions that it’s drawing upon are ones that almost any MMO player will no doubt be familiar with. And it’s probably going to make you a little misty-eyed in the process.

At only four minutes long, it’s a quick watch, although you should be sure to turn on captions (there’s no spoken dialogue through the entire film). So just sit back, relax, and enjoy some beautiful footage with discussion that explores exactly why FFXIV in particular but also MMOs in general can have such a huge impact on the day-to-day lives of their players. And remember, this is all a fan film, not an official production. That’s kind of amazing, too.

Fake.
There are no actual women who play female Miquote.

Nice video, well done. Too bad the game is the most linear quest hub boring gated grind I’ve ever played in my life :/

Zaneko does incredible work.

I’d also highly recommend checking out the other videos on that channel. My own personal favorites are Lala Battle, Light Party, and Minion’s Adventure.
