I hope you upgraded your Amp. Some parts need to be done in operator mode and using only the standard Mote Amp will make it really painful.

When you get to the final part of the mission, the radial ‘Howl’ will reset Sentient resistances which makes it easy to make short work of them.

We warned you. Ditch the mote amp for something better from the quills.

I used Inaros to tank the attacks from all the Sentients, so didn’t die from them. But like you I had the basic starter Amp and very little Focus unlocked, so my Operator was discorporated well over a dozen times (I stopped keeping count) by Umbra in that incredibly frustrating fight!

My guess is that it was balanced on the assumption that those playing it would’ve fought Eidolons to earn the currency to get better Amps from the Quills, am surprised they didn’t adjust the tuning after all the feedback since it was released.

The bright side is that MJ got past the hardest part, I think. The next mission has what I think is one of the most impactful moments of this story arc. For the overall mission design, DE seems to love their “rule of three.” I’m pretty sure the first two parts could have been combined into a single mission, without needing the “slightly different mechanics to subdue the story target” both times. :(

I guess they didn’t retune it because most of the more recent story/mission content seems to be balanced around the assumption that the player has an upgraded Amp, if not that *and* maxed out Focus. It might actually be intended as a sort of “light gearcheck mission.” :(
