One Shots: Acrophobia immersion therapy

For those, like myself, who have a slight fear of heights, then boy does Star Citizen have the ship for you! It’s the equivalent of leaning against a glass elevator that summits a 150-floor skyscraper. But boy, that view.

In our first player screenshot this week, Natalyia is doing some “low-altitude sightseeing on MicroTech” while making me scream in terror. Excuse me while I nope right out of this ship and go buy something that has nary a window nor takes off from its launch pad. A box. That’s what I want, a box.

Back on terra firma in Final Fantasy XIV, Josh is making the best of a homebound situation by taking fashion to the furthest corners of Ezorea. I always thought mirrored sunglasses were the height of cool… in 1993. That opinion hasn’t changed since.

Toy Clown’s throwing a party, and everyone’s invited: “This week, I spent part of it being sick, but still dragged my head out from under the covers to prepare for Star Wars Galaxies Legends’ first Cantina Crawl with my friends, where we had a great time socializing with a lot of other players on the server. Even though I had to cut it short, it gave me such happiness to be a part of one again.”

“See, I’m that person who will see a half naked dude and make sure I get a snapshot with them,” says Vincent.

This is why I’ve taken to strolling around the town center in a speedo, but so far, very few people have come up for selfies. I am getting shadowed by the police a lot, however.

Finally, if you think you’re having a bad day, you could be this dude who’s had a shipping container dropped on his noggin. “Sometimes, it’s tough to be an NPC in Star Trek Online,” Mysecretid said.

This week’s screenshot challenge is to head to the library! Seriously, let’s get some cool shots of in-game libraries, book shelves, heck, even book piles. Book it up, people!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!

I completely forgot about Secret World Legends, the place is stuffed with libraries!

Oh, right. Forgot about that one – There’s a cool one under Kingsmouth too, but I don’t think I have time to run a character up to that point in the story to get pics. :)

You’re quite safe on the Carrak, Justin – the bridge chairs have those safety harnesses and if you want to hide in the medbay there aren’t any windows to the outside there… :)

As for libraries, and books? BDO has some really nice libraries, as does GW2. Here’s some pics from BDO:

The libary of the Valkyries in Calpheon has nice spots to discuss the finer points of sword and shield vs. lance combat, and an ample selection of tomes on other matters.

The elven library in Grana has a lesser collection, but has an open, airy feel that invites you to stay a while and read.

Guild Wars 2 has several libraries scattered about the game world, but there’s two in particular. The library of the Durmond Priory, and the Great Library of Kormir that stand out.

Here’s the entrance to the Durmond Priory (and just the entrance, because using a web browser is apparently beyond my skills at this moment. :) )

Here’s the rest of the Priory.

And the Library of Kormir, not-so-conveniently located in the Mists, which includes the somewhat difficult-to-peruse flocks of books.

“Wait, no Lyn & Soul this week, Uta?”

The Earthen Realm appears to lack libraries. While Azeroth has a crap tonne of them. o.O

“…what about that one in Gunwon City?”

Oh! Well…I don’t have any characters on that chapter yet. /sigh

I’ll leave the actual libraries to Natalyia. Hey, Justin. Did you know you can standon that glass? Come join us some time and we’ll give you a ride. ;)

Living/Re-living GW2 Season 1 episodes while dressed in a GW1 outfit is kinda like visiting a library, right? The missions have been archived after all.

What about while on a quest to find the collected works of Snargle Goldclaw. The end reward is a bookshelf that you can reread all of his interspecies masterpieces.

(spoilers for the last book ahead)

Installed the game for SAB, my main was in Queensdale and the music made me nostalgic for the game even when i’m playing it! anyway, what’s the deal with season 1 episode? is it free or i should buy it?

It’s free but your character must be in Eye of the North and have completed the current story.

The live events can’t be duplicated, but the 4 instances are available.

In the spirit of the recent Warlords of Draenor revisit article, I’d like to remind you all about apexis crystals. My poor hunter is currently working double time to collect this most annoyingly slow-accumulating excuse of a currency to buy the Corrupted Dreadwing mount. So here are some painful shots along the way.

Pretty, as the graphics were considerably upped already in Pandaria, but the grind is neverending.

Books you say? My EQ2 monk had quite a selection of books.
You can see a few of time over there in the left corner, next to the weapons wall.
