Crowfall’s War of the Gods update inches closer with this past weekend’s test

13

It’s been the subject of the vast majority of Crowfall’s discussion, and this past Thursday and Friday it went live… for a little bit, at least. The War of the Gods update was brought to the test server on the 26th and then again for two tests on the 27th.

As one would expect of something added to a test server, things in this particular update require feedback. To that point, the update will be released in phases, with phase one focused on combat and gameplay, leveling progression in the God’s Reach starter world, and gameplay and mechanics of the new Frostweaver class. Once the initial God’s Reach testing phase is complete, the next phase will add the guild vs. guild Dregs world. Once all of those new features are tested for polish and performance, the War of the Gods update will go to the live server.

As for when this update will come back, players are advised to keep their eyes to the Crowfall forums or the game’s social media for updates.

Looking forward to playing when it releases (or the early bird release). I’ve only ever backed 3 games on Kickstarter and this is one of them. I know I can jump in and play…. I’ve just been trying to delay it until it’s really close to release.

I always suspected this release would be the beginning of the road to a soft launch.

The game has been playable for quite a while now. And the vast majority of the games systems are in and have been tested extensively.

Although the game isn’t launch ready yet. It wouldn’t be a complete disaster if they did launch it now.

I’m betting on a soft launch sometime around late summer early fall.

Did this game actually release, I do not spend money on Kickstarters unless they release a finished product?

If you wait til its finished you are just buying the finished product. Its not a Kickstarter at that point. And no, it’s still in development.

That’s it then I only buy finished products.

Not one thin dime until I hear,”No more character wipes.”

From what I understand the game wipes it’s self at the end of every campaign so it doesn’t make sense to carry your character over to the next campaign right?

Maybe I’m wrong but this is the impression I got when I watched a video about Crowfall a year ago.

That is just the campaign ending for that particular world.

You have an overall immortal crow “Character” that is like a soul that takes over flesh bodies of the playable races.

Basically my statement means, not a dime until the game launches, because that last wipe will be when it is going live.

Well I hope there’s some good stuff in this, it looked dreadful in Lazypeon’s video.

Lasypeon is a dunce.

The update is looking good honestly, a lot of UI polish, combat is flowing a lot better and just overall improvements. They still have a lot to do, but it’s definitely improving and is in about the state you wouod expect from a game actually doing a proper testing cycle and not just a PR stunt.

Oh please…combat is still janky as ever and very floaty…zero impact\

I don’t see how it took 6 months to get the current update out

CF’s combat has improved quite a bit. You used to have to be right on top of a target within 1m to hit anything in Melee even as a Templar with a 2-handed sword. Which would significantly impact PvP engagements and securing kills.

Now they have it set so things are actually connecting correctly so those kills you would have missed out on are actually being secured. I would say that has improved significantly.

So again. It has improved. Take that how you will, but it is definitely improving at a good pace. Not everyone has unrealistic expectations of update cadence.
