Valnir Rok focuses on performance updates, promises to ‘go darker, more violent’

I don’t know about any of you, but I never got the impression that the world of Valnir Rok is a particularly warm and snuggly place, but a presser from the devs suggests that big changes are on the way in the next three months.

“Big things are happening in Valnir Rok – over the coming months the game will undergo many changes, go darker, more violent – it will not be a safe place to live. Can you stop this apocalypse from happening in the formerly so peaceful land with its green pastures?”

Vague promises of darkity dark dangerous danger aside, the survival sandbox has been focusing less on making new content updates and more on fixing what’s in-game now. A recent patch has added performance improvements, PvP and PvE explanations to the server list, a number of graphical updates, and several gameplay updates such as XP adjustments for a Kraken kill, temporary removal of horse traders, and building repair cost changes among others. All of the salient information is in the latest set of patch notes.

The press release also promises that Valnir Rok will soon be slashing its price on Steam by 50% this coming Monday, April 6th. So, in synopsis, there are changes afoot for the digital land of the Vikings.

I’ll risk it:

Maybe time has come when we no longer use color to denote morality, health, quality, etc. If it gets more violent, ok say that, but unless they are dimming the lighting engine down globally, I’d question use of word “darker” in this context.

It’s all about the patriarchy trying to keep down women of color, man.

Eh for all the talk of toxicity I figured the subconscious inference that goes along with using color in those ways was outdated. But I can’t say the above responses weren’t expected.

You got us. We’re all a bunch of racists. Maybe even subconscious racists!

There is NOTHING outdated about color-coded information. It’s a psychological response as natural as the smell of food or the sight of water for hungry or thirty humans.

I don’t know where you were going with that but saying that color is outdated implies that other psychological tactics also are outdated, when we have a entire multibillion dollar industry based on it.

It’s definitely not a stretch to think people could come up with better adjectives to describe things.

Was it difficult and painful pulling that out of the depths of your rectum?

Is there a statue representing usage of “shade” and “tone” we can take down to make you feel better?
