Every time I’m in an MMORPG, my eyes are always looking to the horizon. What’s out there, over that next mountain range, across that vast open sea, through that dense forest? That desire to explore has always been strong, and I appreciate games that encourage this wanderlust rather than restrict it.
Of course, very few MMORPGs have fully fleshed-out worlds with no boundaries or invisible walls. Sometimes we hit those impassable cliffs or find ourselves floundering in the ocean at the edge of our ability to continue. While we know that there’s probably nothing but developer gray space beyond, it’s hard not to want to see where you can’t.
