The Repopulation works through an annoying crash issue and begins filling out whitebox areas

The April update from The Repopulation notes some pretty important progress. The latest build has addressed a persistent 02 crash issue with the help of player assistance, clearing out approximately 98% of the game’s crashing issues. There are a number of other things to work on, like the game’s item system and database and setting up NPCs, but more stability is always welcome.

The April update has also started filling in whiteboxed areas of The Repopulation with fresh buildings and assets. The update post offered thanks to players who were able to log in and help guide the devs with feedback on building placement, noting that moving whiteboxed buildings in real time while players watched and offered their input would only be possible in the HeroEngine. Expect more such events in the future.

Finally, the update notes a slightly smaller map size, moving maps from 590×590 to 567×567. This change was done in order to help clear out custom shader and heightmap node data issues. All of the latest changes can be found in the patch notes.

MMO players will recall that The Repopulation was Kickstarted twice for around $230,000 and hit Steam early access in 2014, where it’s lingered ever since – excepting the year it was offline entirely thanks to the HeroEngine dispute that ultimately saw Idea Fabrik take it over in 2017.

Still waiting for a UI/game menu fix been waiting for it since 2017 when I got my 4k monitor. They know there is a problem I have told them several times but I guess they don’t want players that bad.Basically when you try to change any game settings all the wording is grabled together and you can make heads or tails of it. There are also in-game menu’s that are like this last I looked. This game did have potential back in the day the only thing I wasn’t cray about was the clunky combat which would have been a relatively easy fix if they would actually listen to there community tho.who knows maybe things are changing over there if they’re actually taking players advise on building locations directly in game maybe there doing it on the forums now too. If this mmorpg is ever finished I may check it out again.

I wonder how they keep bankrolling it? What is their end game?

Don’t know the how but IF desperately needs a win to validate Hero Engine.

The crafting system in this game had SO much potential.
I played it before Idea Fabrik took it over and it was really fun back then

It really was an amazingly detailed and flexible crafting system. I still think it was the closest thing to SWG in terms of how vast of a system it was.

It was an interesting concept with potential to earn XP using non-combat skills like dancing or singing in clubs.

Might MOP one day ask IdeaFabrik what is their grand vision for the game?

Wow, this game is still in development? Last time I checked the Steam numbers, it had an average of 3 concurrent players. Not joking.
