About a year ago, we covered a wholesome fan project to rebuild Classic Guild Wars with RPG Maker, and now it’s back with an update. Guild Wars: The Last Day Dawns has now implemented the Monk (is there any toon more iconic than the bun Monk?), the Green Hills County map, and some content not in the original game too. Creator Joseph “JOMO” Morrone let us know that there won’t be another update for a while, but he wanted to get the new version out for folks who were waiting for a more “complete” version. Make sure you leave him some feedback if you try it!

“I am very happy with what I was able to accomplish these past 15 months,” he writes. “This has been a tremendous amount of work for me to complete in my free time for no other reason than I wanted to. (500+ hours) The current release is what I consider a feature complete version. It includes various types of content sprinkled in. The idea behind it being to gauge player reactions and if the particular content idea is well received, add more of it in the future.”

Classic Guild Wars is all over the news right now, given that it’s celebrating its 15th birthday and ArenaNet commemorated the event by adding a patch (yes, really) with new gear (yep) and new skills (it happened!) too.
