Star Trek Online previews its next campaign event, the Defense of Pahvo, and upcoming 2020 additions

Right now in Star Trek Online you can enjoy the winter event for 2019 right now, in the middle of the spring. Yes, it’s unusual, but it’s still here. But starting on May 7th, players will be thrust back into more active duty with the Defense of Pahvo event, giving players a choice between two different TFOs (one in space and one on the ground) as they fight to defend the strange living world of Pahvo from those who would invade and destroy this unique planet.

Completing these events awards progress toward the game’s second major overarching campaign, which ultimately will award either 1000 Lobi crystals or a free T6 ship and 200 Lobi crystals; this event on its own, meanwhile, offers a new universal KIDD Drone kit module. The developers are also previewing some of the upcoming content which is being explicitly dubbed as not quite a road map, with the Risian festival coming up along with To Hell With Honor and Kobayashi events arriving for console players. And there’s the promise of new stories on the horizon, too… there’s still no shortage of things to do now or in the near future in STO, it seems.

I have been playing the crap out of STO since the quarantine began. It’s an addicting game and is scratching my sci-fi itch for now.

Ground combat leaves a lot to be desired, though. Too many mobs can one-shot you.

I was honestly beginning to wonder about story content for STO. It felt as though the Discovery chapter came hot on the heels of the DS9 chapter, and was incredibly brief, with a long drought afterward.

That the promise of coming content in the article features the Klingon symbol and a story of “glory and honor” is particularly heartening.
