EN FUEGO!

Ultima Online’s latest newsletter has a bit of a tease for the summer update.

“We are currently working hard on Publish 109 which we are planning a worldwide release in July,” Broadsword’s Bonnie Armstrong writes. “We have talked about new tool upgrades that will be included for Event Moderators in Publish 109 which will offer us exciting new ways to deliver content. We are also preparing new rewards for seasonal favorites like Halloween, our 23rd Anniversary, and more! Once we release Publish 109 we will be full steam ahead on our next project – we know you are excited to know what we have in store for Ultima Online and we are excited to share it with you! Keep an eye out for this big announcement!”

We’ve previously speculated that this “big announcement” might finally be the long-delayed Steam release since in February the team suggested it related to bringing the game to the “largest audience ever,” but we wouldn’t turn down another expansion, either.

The newsletter also reiterates that the current Treasures of Tokuno event, which had been activated in March alongside update 108 to keep us all occupied during the pandemic, will be disabled come May 12th and replaced with an encore presentation of the 20th anniversary invasion events from several years back.
