Gun or run.

Most of the news regarding Amazon’s online multiplayer shooter Crucible has been kind of thin. We know that it’s made some pretty big business moves, that it wants to blend PvE and battle royale elements, and that it was eyeing this month for its launch window. Now that launch window has transformed into a launch date: Wednesday, May 20th, along with a new informational video that breaks down its three gameplay modes.

The first mode is Heart of the Hives, which pits two teams of four against one another to kill immense creatures and gather their hearts as fast as possible. The Alpha Hunters mode pits eight teams of two against one another in a battle royale match. Finally, Harvester Command tasks two teams of eight with keeping control of Essence Harvesters and collecting the most Essence in a point control mode. Players will be able to select from 10 different characters that level up when Essence is collected, unlocking new abilities, more power, and more health.

Crucible will launch free-to-play on Steam, though the link to its Steam page isn’t currently working at the time of this writing. All the same, you can at least get a glimpse of what this shooter is offering in the video below.
