The Speeder is the first vehicle you’re tasked with assembling in Dual Universe, and as a result it’s the introduction to vehicle controls. It is also a hovercraft, though, partway between being an aerial vehicle and a ground vessel… and its controls are thus an interesting element for players to get accustomed to. As a result, the controls are now being changed for travel mode (cruise mode remains largely identical) so that players can hopefully get a more intuitive experience.
Nose control is now automatic, with the spacebar allowing the craft to make a small leap vertically and W/S controlling speed rather than thrust. Speed is also still under the control of the mouse wheel, so players can feel free to use either input as needed. The result should be a hovercraft that’s easier to control when starting out while still retaining the same ability to navigate around obstacles without too much trouble. Check out the full dispatch for the details on all the control changes.
