Hey, that's nice.
This won’t come as a huge surprise, since we already knew Guild Wars 2’s next living story Icebrood Saga episode is called No Quarter and that we’d be getting the new trailer today. That’s all true. What we didn’t know for sure was that it’d make May, and it will: May 26th. We also know quite a bit more about the plot too, as ArenaNet’s this morning announced the name of the map and some of the juicy details too.

“Chapter three of Guild Wars 2’s ongoing story The Icebrood Saga arrives Tuesday, May 26, plunging players into the middle of an epic confrontation against former allies as conflict between factions of charr warriors erupts into all out civil war. Titled No Quarter, the episode opens up a brand new, never-before seen part of Tyria: the Drizzlewood Coast tucked into the viridian forests of the Woodland Cascades. Taking inspiration from the World vs. World game mode, players will be thrust into a massive map-wide battle featuring fortress sieges and capture points in one gigantic meta-event. ArenaNet released a new trailer today that prefaces the impending clash of armies that will roll its way across the charr nation and leave no one untouched.”

Notably, the episode will include the new map, the Charr civil war meta event, a new wave-based strike mission dubbed Cold War, another tier to the Essence Manipulation mastery track that’s been running this saga, new weapon sets (Tengu Echo and Stormcaller), new Charr-themed backpacks and helms (oh my goodness, we bet these won’t clip!), a new emote for playing dead, new bear shaman armor, and a new mastery line: United Legions Waystation mastery, which will “grant new special action skills useful for besieging charr fortresses and resupplying allies.”

As we’ve previously noted, this will be the episode that rolls out to players without voice acting due to the pandemic, but ArenaNet has said it’ll patch in the actors’ work as soon as it’s able to record and process it again.
