WRUP: Dance Dancer Revolution walkthrough as spoken by your terrible college boyfriend edition

Up arrow, up arrow, down arrow, left arrow, left arrow, right arrow, left arrow, down arrow hold, up arrow, left arrow, left arrow, left – no! No, I said left arrow! Stop looking at me, look at the screen! Because I’m walking you through this by reading you a walkthrough! Because we’re a team! Why do you want to emasculate me? All the other girls love playing this game! No, you’re a girl, you should be playing – oh, great, now you failed the song. That’s great. That’s real great, babe. Great work.

Look, here, just put another quarter in and – no, Brian, we don’t have a problem, all right?! Everything is fine! I don’t care who had next! Get your damn hands off me, you – listen, it’s up arrow, up arrow! Why are you walking away from the machine! Don’t go over to Street Fighter! Babe, we have to drive back to the dorm! Babe? Is that how you’re being? Well fine, I’m breaking up with you then! No, Brian, I won’t stop hitting the glass! Oh, yeah, call the cops, you… no, babe, listen, I love you, please? You’re my ride, I need to get back and answer What Are You Playing. Babe?

Down arrow?

Bonus question: What television series do you think you’ve watched in its entirety (or a significant chunk of if) most often?

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I finally acquired all the resources I need to cap armor in Star Wars Galaxies Legends, so I’ve got cores cooking as we speak and will finally start putting some sets together for sale and friends and whatnot. I haven’t made capped armor in like… has it been eight years since the sunset? So this is kinda exciting!

The bonus question is hard. It’s probably Lost. I used to rewatch it a lot in the background when I had a TV next to my PC. Though I’ve probably seen some episodes of Farscape more, but I never make it through the fourth season.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I’ll be dipping into Citadel: Forged with Fire and Final Fantasy XIV, as well as firing up Star Wars: Republic Commando, which I picked up during the May the 4th sale on Steam. I also kind of want to boot up Industries of Titan, which looks like a SimCity 2000 in space. Basically, it’s a day to skip about my backlog or dip into games I’ve picked up and have been meaning to try out.

One of the shows I used to watch pretty regularly was MacGuyver, and I’m pretty sure I’ve watched Cheers and Frasier to completion. The last show I watched a lot of was The Mysteries of Laura, but that never got finished so much as canned, which is frustrating because that show was excellent.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I have finally bothered to spend a small amount of time occasionally earning reputation in World of Warcraft since it has been greatly enhanced! Inform the men. I will also be playing FFXIV, of course.

If we’re counting Netflix, I can’t count how many times I’ve watched I Think You Should Leave on there; otherwise, it’s a toss-up between Time & Eric Awesome Show Great Job! and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Tyler Edwards: Continuing my journey through We Happy Few. 40+ hours in, a certain degree of fatigue has arisen, but it’s still finding ways to impress me. This game has nailed something that a lot of dystopic fiction tends to ignore: Dystopias don’t work. Authoritarian regimes aren’t ruthless yet efficient. They’re ruthless yet incompetent, and ultimately doomed to catastrophic failure.

Bonus question: Without a doubt The Simpsons, with Star Trek: The Next Generation a distant second and Star Trek: Enterprise close behind it for third.

Pierre, patron: I’m very close to the end (no not this end, a less dramatic one) and will finish The Last of Us this weekend. What a treat it’s been. And part two promises to be even better, a very dark game from what I saw in the last trailer, but I can’t wait. The sequel launches on June 19 so it’s not too far now. I’m really hyped and glad I managed to avoid the recent spoilers on the social networks. Christmas will be in June this year, at least for me.

My World of Tanks relapse lasted three days this year. It’s over now. I don’t know why I come back to this game so frequently, when I know I will give up in a few days each and every time, because it’s not the game it used to be a few years ago… At any rate, here in France, the Amazon Prime Video streaming VOD service added the Battlestar Galactica show to their catalog this week. As I’m a fan of this TV show and had a BG game in my backlog, I decided to try it. So, I’m also playing Battlestar Galactica Deadlock.

Bonus question: The 100 is the TV show I watched most often. This series is so good in my opinion that every time a new season is close to launch, I binge the former seasons all over once again to be ready to watch the new one. I strongly recommend this show. The writing, directing and the acting are all excellent. And you MOP readers? WRUP this week? Let’s see in the comments.

Every Saturday, join the Massively OP community and staff for What Are You Playing, our roundup of what MMORPGs and other games we’re hoping to play this weekend (with a bonus question or two for our amusement). Tell us what you’re up to! Go off-topic! And don’t forget to have fun!

Just finished Star Wars Force Unleashed tonight, the conclusion was surprising and did not end up as I would have perhaps enjoyed more, however it was amusing from a story point of view, it’s called a twist I think in the entertainment industry, or in writing. Cool game, got plenty more games to finish next.

Seinfeld most watched show, got in a rut there, but love that show, loveable but possibly not totally harmless dysfunctional characters.

I am playing ESO again in spite of the game really not wanting me too.

I made a few attempts to get back into it over the past few years, but gave up each time.

I spent day one this time of trying to get back in by figuring out the which versions of which chapters I needed to get caught up. I could have bought the collectors version of the upcoming chapter that would include everything, well not everything that would be too easy – all the chapters, but since I already owned the base game and a few early chapters I found a better way.

There was much cross referencing to figure all of this poop out though. I ended up buying 2 chapters from 2 different sites to take the most advantageous discounts.

ESO with add-ons is unbearable for me so to get my add-ons back in order was the next mission the following day. After finding many of them abandoned, I ended up deleting them all and starting over with suggestions from one of those pro build people’s sites .

Even with Minion (a nice add-on Manager) this was not was as easy I had hoped it would be. The are libraries some add-ons are dependent on that are cannot be added by Minion – so I had to look up all the dependencies and download them separately.

There is absolutely no way I would suggest ESO to a new gamer, a new MMO gamer, or someone relatively considered not technically savy.

While there nomenclature may make sense to those that are already indoctrinated to it. It is a friggin clusterphuck to me even though I have already put quite a bit of time into it. There is no way I would thrust that upon a newbie.

Some mix of Smite, FFXIV, maybe some FF7 Remake, HotS, and maybe some Lego Lord of the Rings. Maybe some Fallout 76, not really sure. Kind of just doing a mix of whatever I feel like playing right now.

Bonus question: Scrubs or Futurama since they had a significant amount of reruns back when I watched TV on a normal basis and they never got old to me. Earlier than that it’d probably be whatever cartoons on Nickolodeon/Cartoon Network but those were more the case of just watching whatever was on VS choosing what to watch.

Tried the Book of Travels Beta yesterday evening but it seems to be in a rather early state, still; or I just don’t get it. Will experiment a bit more with it later today.

In other news: I have to apologize to Zenimax for complaining about ESO‘s client performance in the past couple weeks. As it turns out, my Samsung SSD had a hardware problem (at least that’s what I hope; otherwise it must be the main board which would be a far greater hassle to fix). So, Zeni, I admit you have the best software engineers of the universe and I have the shittiest hardware. Your fat ass client is re-downloading in the background as we speak.

TV: only TV series I watched (almost) completely are Twin Peaks and Lost. But both only once, so far.

Relaxing week-end, everyone!

You know, it’s totally possible for Zenimax to have crap software engineers, and for your hardware to suck at the same time.

Admirable as it is, Zeni doesn’t deserve the sentiment because they know their client is bad!

  • Wizards Unite – Leveled my account for the first time in what feels like months -_-. The life of a casual(?). A Quidditch themed event is happening and I’m done the main quests, while mehhing about bonus quests. The devs did a massive rebalancing and design change making it much easier to fill out pages of the ‘foundables’, I presume to set up future gameplay for the game’s second year. I think at this point, by end of May I might have my first class (Professor) maxed out :).
  • Magia Record, Brave Exvius, Another Eden, Magikarp Splash, Blade X Lord, War of the Visions: FFBE – Magia logins, Brave Exvius logins, Another Eden logins, Magikarp neglected, SDS logins, Blade X Lord I did the story for the previous story event and I got its weaker unique rewards but no more than that (missed the big weapon rewards, but SxL relies on afk autobattling and screw that), WOTV I advanced more story and got FFT’s Ramza but did nothing to upgrade him to be useful.
  • Other mobile – Subscribe to My Adventure is a story-driven RPG that takes place in a modern-fantasy setting of a kingdom that uses social media engagement as their power source, even as that power occasionally mutates people into monsters that then get killed on air for the views. Hey, its funnier than it sounds! Guardian Tales is like one of those bad Zelda clones you see on the Play/App store that just wants your money, except its well written and localized, runs smoother, has actual design in its levels, and a charm to it, so check that out! (It still wants your money)
  • Last Cloudia – The Dr. Stone crossover event continued. There was actually a story to this one, unlike the Secret of Mana event, and it was actually relatively good and with no localization errors! Wow! And it tied into my favorite evil character, Lily, the cute mad-faced scientist goddess. Great! The event rewards a ‘SR’ rank ark through its gameplay and allows you to grind for tickets to max out its ‘ark ether’, so I did that. I also got the ‘SSR’ ark reward in the gacha, but I haven’t gotten either of the two character rewards and I might not get them by the end. I’d be happy with just one. In terms of grind… I’m getting all the unique and major rewards, but I don’t know if I have the drive to get everything. I think there’s a few more days left, so maybe.
  • SWTOR – I’m about 1/2 through Taris while partner is still in Nar Shaddaa. Probably going to focus on SWTOR for a bit so I can catch up.
  • Distancing Hangouts –Not much! Except FFXIV below. And talking Dwarf Fortress with a friend.
  • FFXIV – Nearly Lv 30 Conjurer but started a Gladiator to Lv 10+ to deal with quests in that land. A IRL friend rejoined FFXIV, going past the free days and purchasing Shadowbringers, and so we covered Ifrit and some dungeon grind. NOT resubbing immediately because I want to focus on SWTOR first; once I’m done Taris, Nar Shaddaa, and maybe Tattooine (or just all of Act 1?) I think I’ll look at XIV again.

Partner is continuing Animal Crossing but seems to have finished Bloodstained, at least for now. Returned to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to play the standalone prequel expansion. I found out he was listening to SWTOR soundtrack for ambiance while working from home, haha.

More Animal Crossing. I spent 200k in Nook tickets and found the same spiral island with peaches Every. Single. Time. i feel that needs a patch.

Then i’m playing some FFXIV getting the relics while i get the last four jobs from 70-80.

As well as booting up my Xbone for the first time in a year to revisit Alan Wake as it turns 10 years old and boy do i love it way more than Control, in fact i think it actively makes me dislike Control even more.

Also melting. Good old new english summers where the [TOTALLY NOT CLIMATE CHANGE] weather slowly creeps up to the modern day Arizona level heatwaves which last night lead to a lot of drunks outside on the street coughing all over each other and 2 ambulances on the same street this morning.

People are great. Just smart and great.

LOL. My wife is playing Animal Crossing at the moment and we are convinced that Nook is essentially an upstart communist trying to create his regime. He’s got the shady business deals, no transportation off the island, weird nook money that doesn’t convert to bells and crazy ponzi schemes with housing! I mean, come on?!?!? :D

PoE for what gaming time I have.

Bonus: Futurama, especially if you consider the original four seasons a separate show. I’ve watched the later stuff, too, but those first four I’d probably watched an unhealthy number of times before the show’s rebirth. Another contender is The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Over 25 years and I’m still grumpy about it only lasting one season.* In terms of total time spent watching (but not in its entirety,) Classic Doctor Who is a solid winner with The Simpsons as the only real contender.

*And if you young’uns ain’t familiar with Mr. County and his adventures you owe it to yourself to seek them out.

This weekend will be mostly Albion and a smattering of Apex to get ready for the new season. Maybe LOTRO? I dunno.

Bonus: As a kid, I think I’ve watched ST:TOS through at least a couple of times and I’m pretty sure I watched ST:TNG all the way through back when they came out. I also think I saw all the M*A*S*H episodes as well. More recently, I’ve probably seen most of Bob’s Burgers due to my daughters’ obsession with the show.

Starting off with some STO. New event is up and have to grind that out.

After that is more X4: Foundations. Got a few more stations up and running which has made me a few hundred million credits. Time to build a war fleet and start clamping down on Xenon expansion. Might have to take one of their sectors and use it as my new home sector.

Wrapping it up with Guild Wars 2. Grabbed it on the recent sale for the expansions. I had played vanilla GW2 before HoT but never made it to 80. Got one to 60 and then had a bunch of 30s. Got bored and left. Coming back feels like a whole new game though. Lots of things to chase. Watching people flying around on dragons and shit while I’m running on foot is a great motivator to finally get to end game. My old characters were still there so I grabbed all the Bday gifts which gave me a good boost for my new character.

Rolled up a Mesmer which feels very fluid with the illusions and shatters. Looks like all the skills and talents have been rearranged in the years I’ve been gone and it makes much more sense now. I remember the old skill system being a mess. Made it to level 30 last night and have to wrap up the personal story.

That’s about it for me this time around. Have a great weekend, everyone. Also don’t die. Have to keep writing that one down for now.
