Apex Legends adds a new hero and a lore-filled mission in its upcoming fifth season

Season five of Apex Legends is just on the horizon — Tuesday, May 12th, to be exact — and it’s bringing another round of new stuff to the battle royale shooter, including a new hero, a new battle pass, another round of ranked play, and a season-long mission.

The new Legend is Loba Andrade, a “high society socialite by day, and the Outlands’ most infamous thief by night” according to a blurb from one of the recently released videos. There isn’t much known about the character, but she apparently likes using a pistol or rifle, a swanky-looking staff, and some nifty teleportation abilities.

The other big-ticket item is a season-long mission known as The Broken Ghost, which tasks players with collecting daily Treasure Packs that open up rewards and access to weekly hunts for a piece of an artifact. Each successful hunt unlocks various rewards and new chapters of a greater story, until all nine pieces of this artifact are found for even more rewards and the reveal of “a secret that the Outlands might not be ready for.”

The new season will also bring the usual goodies like another season pass of skins, Apex Packs, and promise of new battle pass content, as well as the fourth round of ranked series play and a couple of adjustments to the King’s Canyon area of the map. You can check out some of the details on this season’s landing page and take in some video footage to get a glimpse of what’s next.
