Level out.

We don’t yet know when Final Fantasy XIV’s patch 5.3 will arrive; while the team has said there will be a delay, a release date has not yet been announced. What we do know is that you’ll have time to chase some gewgaws along the way with the latest Moogle Treasure Trove event, starting on May 18th and lasting until the patch maintenance for 5.3. And that means a pile of special tomestones for clearing dungeons, as before… but that list of dungeons has also changed.

While Praetorium, Castrum Meridianum, Aurum Vale, and so forth are still on the list, you won’t earn more Irregular Tomestones of Law (this event’s currency) through the Crystal Tower series; instead, you’ll earn them in the Return to Ivalice raid series (Rabanastre, Ridorana, and Orbonne). You can then exchange those tomestones for various mounts, riding maps, or the signature new reward of a mameshiba neckerchief. So you’ll have a little time to get yourself some rewards by running back through older content.

Man folks are going to be swimming in relics by the end of this.

Neat, I was looking for motivation to level up SMN anyway.

When I saw this I was hoping that one of the mounts would be one of the more annoying ones from among the Four Lords, such as the “doesn’t want to drop from our dear friend Snake Boi” Seiryu mount…

Alas, it’s the one that I quite literally obtained just three weeks ago.

Will be nice to complete the Calca and Brina collection though, since Brina seems to never want to drop for me.

Might grind out some MGP Platinum cards as well, to supplement what I get from the Gold Saucer. I eventually want both the Cloud Strife card (245 cards and counting) and the giant cactuar mount, so those 50k cards could be useful while I’m doing other stuff.

Considering they seem to be going in some degree of order with the whistles I guess it makes sense that Susan’s would be first (while Zurvan finishes off the bird whistles). Next one they’ll do will probably give Lakshmi’s and Shinryu before going to Byakko/etc.

Yeah, I expected the Susan or Lakshmi dogs but was irrationally hoping that maybe they’d go with “hardest/most annoying to obtain” then work back from there.

Unfortunately for getting it from this as a source, I have them in order all the way to Byakko, just needing Tsukuyomi, Thirsty Fire Bird (Suzaku), and Snake Boi to complete the collection.
