You’d think an entire piece from the Dual Universe team about how the game wasn’t planned for consoles and will still not be going to consoles would be kind of superfluous, but apparently not so much. No, in fact, there’s apparently quite a bit to say on the topic! Even if, at the end of the day, it still means that DU remains in the same development track. But there are always enterprising fans…
Enough on the console front, this isn’t Consolewatch, it’s Betawatch.
- Gee whiz, Ship of Heroes, how come your mom lets you have (a powerset with) two swords?!
- What’s the holdup on the Crowfall beta? The curse of Tgek’dmal, obviously. Or bugs and some need for polish before the Dregs campaign kicks off. One or the other.
- You have a whole heck of new customization options available in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. That’s fun.
- Last Oasis will finally start making oases a bit less permanent starting on May 20th. Go east, folks.
- Last but not least, RuneScape Mobile has gone into beta for iOS, so you can scape your runes on the go with an Apple phone now.
And that’s that! Betas are done forever. Except for next week, of course, and the whole long list we have below for your perusal. Feel free to let us know if something in the list there has skipped phases without us noticing, too; it’s downright neighborly of you.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
