The Stream Team: Going after the The Glassmaker in Warframe

Warframe’s Nightwave Season 3 has gone live, and Massively OP’s MJ is eager to dive into it! Glassmaker’s got some great ideas, and there’s a lot about the execution that I like, but there are also some things about the execution that really annoy me – Cephelite can be tricky for casual players to gather (as we saw on the stream where you got 4 in about 90m), you need 10 of it per try, and even once you get enough to try the puzzle there are 3 different ways to fail it (as both Rebb and Megan did on Thursday evening’s official Home Time stream). And one of those ways is taking the time to listen to the voice lines while the 60 second timer ticks down!

I can’t see anything the timer adds except annoyance and panic, since the clues seem to be randomised so it’s not like people could check guides if they did have plenty of time?


From my point of view the main problem is that the “glass rifts” seem to be on a timer, with an uncertain duration and possibly a large gap between some of the waves. So if you have an hour to play and log in just as the 50 minute gap starts… guess who isn’t getting any glass shards tonight? And as we saw in the stream, the rift can not only trigger after the main mission objective is completed, the first one the team for sure saw went off *as* the extraction animation was starting. Whoops, too bad. Wait another half hour and hope it doesn’t happen again.

And as you mentioned, the timer on the jumping puzzle is an issue, since one of the ways a lot of people miss completing it in time is that they’re actually *trying* to listen to the Glassmaker’s dialogue. The timer adds nothing except forcing people to choose between missing part of the story, or failing the puzzle and wasting the “key” resources needed to attempt it. :(
