Inside Star Citizen looks at the Vanduul fleet, shows off AI updates, a new ship, and new locations

I’ve always considered Star Citizen to be the Gran Turismo of internet spaceship games, particularly since the developers at CIG seem to be very detail-minded in making distinct spacecraft with unique characteristics, features, and designs. Case in point: the Vanduul fleet, which is highlighted in the first half of the most recent Inside Star Citizen video.

The showcase looks at a number of particulars that the devs took into consideration when designing the Vanduul Scythe, Glaive, and Blade, including materials, where to put the most armor, and how to make the ships visually tell the story and characteristics of the Vanduul race. It’s a pretty solid cap to the lore shared during Alien Week.

The second half of the video goes into a fresh sprint report, which showcases new AI behaviors when an enemy NPC runs out of ammo, displays some greybox work being done to the Origin 100 ship series that will be added in alpha 3.11, grants another look at fire propagation tech, and shows off early versions of a new foundry deck and the surface of Pyro II.
