Don't call me Kyle right now.

So what’s going to happen with Curseforge and your precious, precious World of Warcraft addons? You need those to play! For those who missed it, Twitch owned Curseforge, but then sold Curseforge to Overwolf, which means that you’re going to need to use a different client in order to download addons. Or not at all; according to the new AMA hosted by the company, you’ll still be able to just download and manually install without any client whatsoever if you so desire.

Those who do prefer using the client will have the option to directly share their existing account information with Overwolf and thus have everything transfer over, if they so choose. In theory, the Overwolf client will then function in a largely invisible manner. If you’re big on using apps to download and maintain your WoW addon library, the full breakdown is well worth a read, as well as a peek behind all of the requirements for shifting companies for such a long-running enterprise.
