Thank you for using my discussion topic! You two did an amazing job of covering it, and you both made great points.
Thanks for the shout out, too! :) That was very nice of you.
(I’m Hannah, obviously.)
Love pain? Manage servers for a living.
…and having them in a colo with covid entry rules in place makes it extra fun.
Thank you for taking a stab at my question.
The really frustrating thing and to answer your question about the difficulty of disabling bloom, assuming you don’t care about artistic vision as much as GGG seem to.
Well players have already managed it by modding a client side file and while not straightforward it’s also not rocket surgery either from what I understand. It’s also technically a ToS violation as you are modding the client and you are kind of risking your account so I won’t go into details.
Still at least folks who have problems with bloom can play the game without headaches or eye strain even if you are not seeing the full artistic vision.
Oh and that effect Justin was trying to remember was motion blur. It’s something that first person games and racing games use a lot to give a feeling of speed. It’s also something I immediately turn off in those type of games as it makes me feel ill.
Bloom and motion blur are the bane of my poor-eyesight gaming existence.
The other one that does me in is chromatic aberration that is just a migraine waiting to happen if I can’t turn it off.
yep, I am looking to disable all of those in settings before I start playing any game.
Not allowing as a setting to disable or lower (slide bar) settings like this as a default is just unacceptable. I’m always surprised anytime I run across this or read about someone having to deal with it in an mmo that I don’t play. Ugh.
