Your stuff, can I have it?

Happy patch day to Ultima Online fans! Publish 109 is live for the almost-23-year-old MMORPG, and it’s a bit different from previous publishes, which usually overhaul skills or add new content. The 109th update actually focuses on Broadsword’s new dynamic content system – it’s not the first dynamic content system to grace the game, but it’s one that’ll make life a lot simpler for the event gamemasters going forward, complete with tools to generate custom events akin to Treasure of Tokuno, generate champ spawns, and generate boss mobs. Plus, the game now has a new “story elements” suite to make in-game quests easier to parse, including a lore book, clue system, and NPC interaction.

The MMO has come a long way in that time, and if you’re been with it even part of that, you should swing through in September to pick up your anniversary gifts. There’s also new goodies in the cash shop, plus plans for the Artisan Festival this winter. Here’s to another 23 years, UO.
