We’ve been talking about Albion Online’s Rise of Avalon update for weeks, but as of today, we finally have a target date for launch: August 12th. The patch will mark the game’s ninth major rollout since the formal launch three years ago.

As previously covered, Rise of Avalon includes solo PvE dungeons, plenty of UI tweaks, crafting buffs, toggle spell tinkering, mobile optimizations, and new weapons, but the centerpiece of the update are the roads that create both points of contention in the world and methods for traversing it.

“This update brings numerous new features and improvements to the world of Albion: The Roads of Avalon are a massive, shifting network of ancient roads and paths entered via gateways that spawn in the open world. They can be used to traverse vast distances for traveling, transporting items, or launching (or escaping) attacks. Outside the Roads, the immense Wilderness of Avalon offers a whole new realm to explore, with treasures, resource sites, and new creatures to conquer. And smaller guilds looking for a home away from the politics and territory warfare of the Outlands can even place Hideouts and live in the Roads of Avalon.”
