I’m no industry expert, but I bet I know what the gaming consoles need: more battle royale games! This brain wave is being shared by the devs at Pearl Abyss, who have confirmed that Shadow Arena, the standalone Black Desert battle royale, is on its way to Xbox One and PS4. The devs are currently working on the console ports and are planning to launch the title later this year.

As for things happening in this year, the PC version of the game has released its 12th character, Gorgath, to the roster:

“Gorgath is an alchemist who uses the power of earth to summon rocks for brutal offensive attacks or set up a rock-solid defense against enemies. With a mix of ranged attacks by hurling boulders at foes, and close-range AOE attacks, players can easily adjust their combat to different threats.”

In addition to the new character, the latest update has also separated character ranks and tier, making sure that ranking no longer determines tier placement. Rising in tiers will now be handled by the earning of tier points after every match. More details can be found in the latest patch notes.
