World of Warcraft: Shadowlands appears to have PvP world quests returning once more

Fighty shouty fight-shouts.

In World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, players are wandering in the realm of the dead and dealing with afterlife issues. A perfect time to find members of the opposite faction and kill them, right? No? Well, in that case, why not just kill anyone else? Yes, it appears that the world quests related to PvP are returning in Shadowlands, with the Trials of Zo’Sorg flagging you as hostile to everyone if you enter the appropriate region with War Mode turned on.

For those of you who have forgotten or just never cared much, Legion featured a number of world quests centered chiefly around towers in which you could fight either opposite-faction NPCs or other players to complete your objectives. They were a source of conflict and Marks of Honor. Why they were not included in an expansion all about fighting the opposite faction is something of an open question, but it does look like they’re coming around once more when players enter the realm of the dead, at least.

That’s because they were so very popular the first time around.

I didn’t do much of the WoW world quests, but if they are like GW2, i’ll be honest: It’s not that great. Events are good for farming, but i can’t think of a fate worse than anything than to being forced to farm events in WoW.

I think they attract the type of person who likes daily goals to earn nice things – not a grand adventure, but accomplishes a small task and gives you a reward that works to the future. At least until the next expansion when all your work is moot ;)

As long as they dont flag you automatically if you arent doing em, im ok with pvp quests. I rarely do em unless there was a pve way to complete them like in legion, those marks of honor were good for the armor cosmetics. I’ll wait and see if the new ones are similar or whether I should just ignore em entirely. Since I tend to play when everyone is asleep I have options.

I thought you don’t get flagged unless you activate War Mode.

Uh oh. Better grab my wet weather gear for all the crying that’s going to happen.

Not going to be good enough, you’ll need a full on atmospheric diving suit, at the minimum.

World quests are garbage.
PVP World quests are doubly so.

can always count on Sarah for her unbashful review, love it! never change!

When i returned to wow over a decade of not playing, as routine would have it, i bought the expansion and was gone in couple weeks after launch.

The mix of wanting to play classic with my son, and the waiting and he was totally on board for going horde (hasn’t in retail and probably wont) but yea, i went retail to check out horde for the first time while waiting for classic drop.

tbh i had an overwhelming amount of “new’ coming at me in retail and “doubly so” never played horde, i didn’t even know what world Q’s were or how they even fit into the game.

I’m neutral on them, i don’t hate them but find i only use them when they are of use to my character, outside that never touch them.

I enjoy the concept of Classic WoW however since I work nights my hours of play are all over the place so by the time I get to areas like Barrens and Silverpine I get stuck being killed over and over by quest mobs with no one around to group with.

I never had an issue with World Quests, they sort of remind me of dynamic events in GW2.
