Elder Scrolls Online will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – with backward compatibility
Here’s some good news for fans of Elder Scrolls Online with their eyes on the next-gen of consoles: ESO is pushing into the future and will indeed set up shop on both Xbox Series X and the PS5.

“We are thrilled to announce that if you currently own or plan to purchase an Xbox One or PS4 copy of The Elder Scrolls Online between now and the launch of ESO’s next-gen version for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation®5, you can upgrade free to that version of the game.”

Notably, ZeniMax says it will support backward compatibility. “We’re working hard so that when the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 launches, if you are a PS4 or Xbox One player, you can continue playing with your same accounts via backward compatibility on your respective next-gen consoles without interruption or loss of progress–same characters, servers, everything,” the company says. There’s no release date yet, but we’ll be watching and waiting!

Can’t wait that long? Greymoor is actually on sale for 35% off during QuakeCon – now’s your chance if you wanted it cheapish:

I wish there would be dedicated servers for every MMORPG where only console gaming clients would be allowed to connect. I would always play there. Just imagine having no bots (the software kind, not the human kind which will always exist) and no assholes who run damage meters just to tell you that “you suck because your DPS is below what other players did in this encounter”. And no, this would not decrease social interaction, all consoles allow developers to use keyboard and mouse with any game so all console games are allowed to have text chat.

Or accept the fact that playing an MMO on console is if you want to play the game casually. If you want to go hardcore and perform your best play on PC.

I would have been shocked if ESO didn’t support next gen consoles. Still it’s nice to see that they are not going to make you buy the game again to continue your journey on them.

It’s a trend that a lot of upcomng games are following and it’s one I am happy to see. Good for them.

I’m pretty sure it’s already released for Xbox One X. 😁
