DDO Wayfinder players are getting even more boosts and refunds following three-week rollback

Last week, Dungeons and Dragons Online players were dismayed to learn that they hadn’t quite escaped all the horrors of the LOTRO downtime last month after all: In fact, one of the DDO servers, Wayfinder, suffered a catastrophic bout of data loss, resulting in a rollback for the server and all of its recent players totalling three weeks.

Initially, Standing Stone Games had enabled huge bonuses for Wayfinder players, but last night, the studio announced even more efforts underway, including the refund of all cash-shop purchases made between July 13th and August 6th and the addition of a full month of gametime to all VIP subbers who actually played during that time period. Apparently, if your subbed lapsed in the middle of it all, you’ll eventually be granted that compensatory month as well.

It also looks as though the studio is going to just flat-out give characters created during that period a big boost.

“Work is being done to grant the following items to all characters who were created on Wayfinder prior to 5:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) on Wednesday, July 15th: One Heroic XP Stone that will grant 2 Million Experience when consumed (Bound to Character) and one Epic XP Stone that will grant 2 Million Experience when consumed (Bound to Character), and 50 Greater Elixirs of Discovery. These items will be automatically granted in-game in the near future. We will announce when that distribution has taken place.”
