World of Warcraft: Shadowlands pre-patch hits the test realm

Could World of Warcraft’s Patch 9.0 be arriving soon? The Shadowlands “pre-patch,” as this game’s strange terminology goes, just arrived on the public test realm, signalling that it’s making its way to the live servers in the near future. Or the far future. This is Blizzard, after all, and speed is never one of the studio’s traits. Still, it’s a pretty exciting development for the game’s antsy fans.

This first phase of pre-patch testing involves testing out the core class updates, navigation improvements, the fresh new player experience, the expanded character customization we’ve been hearing about for a while now, and the Scourge Invasion event that will precede Shadowlands’ launch.

Blizzard said that it’s going to be rolling out the next phase of PTR pre-patch testing tomorrow. When the pre-patch does arrive on the live servers, it’ll signal the start of the Shadowlands expansion cycle and the countdown to the official launch. The studio said that the pre-patch’s release will be “several weeks” before Shadowlands debuts.

I’m not playing beta, but out of the blue my wife stared a new character on a new server, so I dove in. We’re playing BFA not classic. I haven’t played since the Warlords of Draenor. I must confess I really really like this game. I can see why people prefer classic, but I had a blast leveling from level 1 with no heirlooms or cash from alts.

If you want to know why WoW is top dog in MMOs it’s because they really remove barriers for new players to get through the game from zero. I just did it and not only is it doable it’s fun to boot. Knowing Shadowlands is still a few weeks off I’m tempted to start another alt and level them up. I bet I’d have time to hit max level.

However I really enjoy my current main. Arms warrior. I read on the forums that I’m supposed to hate my character because reasons, but I have fun playing him and he seems plenty competitive to other DPS of similar gear score, so eh?

Anyway. Loving WoW again.

Looking forward to when this goes live, been wanting to have a fresh start and experience the story.

There’s a part of me that’s wants to start now, but I can wait till it’s ironed out

I’ve been spending quite a lot of time messing around with the new character creation options, planning out what to do with my real characters. There are some really amazing changes.

Gnomes have a new shade of pink hair available in 9.0, you know. Some big changes to consider.

I’m not sure about. From what I am seeing, we’re getting…

1) Ultra violet, violet
2) More orange than that Hair Buffoon orange.
3) Voidwalker, Texas Ranger blue
4) Much Blood Troll red
5) Golden Girl blonde
6) Hatsune Miku green

…not seeing another pink, though. :(

Should be early September.

The only thing i’d want to know is the new leveling system pre or part of SL? I’m guessing part of SL launch as heard some zones errr… ummm… expansions (haha) still need much work.

The level squish will come with prepatch.

And the expansions themselves don’t need work, they’re the same as they’ve always been.

I’m part of beta, and it’s been smooth sailing for me to level through the old expansions.
