The MOP Up: EVE Echoes racks up one million players

It looks like CCP’s newest mobile game is already a smash hit. According to the studio, EVE Echoes has already crossed one million players — and counting.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that EVE Online is being abandoned. Just the opposite, in fact, if you take a look at all of the patches that have hit the game in August.

And this is just the beginning of the rest of the news! Read on for a roundup of other smaller MMO news stories and videos from this past week in this edition of The MOP Up (and if you don’t see a news story that we should have covered, drop us a tip)!

Well, that’s that: Red Dead Redemption 2 is leaving the Xbox Game Pass on September 7th.

Escape from Tarkov is being a little unclear about what is OK and what is not OK for players to share between each other.

This is kind of good news for SEGA fans — the company says that it’s going to aggressively port its titles to the PC.

You want some small patches? Some little patchlettes? ArcheAge has some for you, as does Return of Reckoning, All Points Bulletin, and Wakfu.

Lineage 2 Revolution’s August update cranked up the conflict with the all-new Aden Castle Clan War, a fortress siege for all players.

“This week the team discusses how new players will potentially be brought into the game both from an advertising and gameplay perspective,” Prosperous Universe said.

Era of Celestials is throwing a second anniversary bash with plenty of gifts, a six-part event, and a giant birthday cake.

Pretty nice to see EVE Echoes to be that popular, it is yet another proof that a lot of video game players (the genre is irrelevant since many people enjoy different genres) enjoy multiplayer games with PvP. Unfortunately the mobile game is not connected to same world as EVE Online on PC. And it is much more limited because it is purely a mobile game.

I don’t think it’s unfortunate at all, don’t get me wrong I like Online but not having capitals and an API system that tells every man and his dog where to drop them or that there’s a gang killing people 3 systems away from where you are ratting is awesome.
