The Stream Team: Going straight to Warframe’s Heart of Deimos

Massively OP’s MJ may not have completed the Deadlock Protocol yet, but that will have to go on the back burner because Heart of Deimos just launched, and there’s no way she’s missing this new open-world zone full of gooey gory creepiness, personal mechs, and ridable dragonflies! Of all the Entrati I’ve met on Deimos, Daughter’s my favourite.

Have been diving deeper into stuff – you do indeed get new cutscenes, story development, and lore each time you rank up the Deimos factions :)

Daughter is the most pleasant to talk to, although Father seems pretty levelheaded sometimes too. I guess DE decided “giant right arm” was a general Orokin fashion choice, rather than something unique to Ballas. Weirdly enough, it’s actually least distracting on Father. Since he only has the monster-sized arm.

The Helminth system only takes Mastery Rank 8 now, which MJ reached recently. But it also needs Rank 3 with the Entrati family. Just powering through the faction and only spending points on leveling up still needs something close to 75,000 faction, not counting the handful of blueprints you’ll also have to buy as the “rank up offering.”

On the bright side DE changed how the “faction points per day” are capped and made it MUCH higher at lower levels. Getting to rank three is just a question of doing a lot of missions and then converting the weird new tokens into reputation points. It’s something that could be chipped away at if you’re not in a huge hurry for Helminth. (Which players probably shouldn’t be if they don’t already have a huge pile of extra Warframes just lying around.)

I guess going forward some people might level up the normal “you can earn it from just playing the game” Warframes at least once for Mastery and to decide if they like the frame. Then they’ll get the Primed version, and sacrifice the standard version to Helminth to make room.

Thankfully they removed the requirement for Son tokens to reach the lower ranks, but ranking up to 3 requires both Son tokens and a bunch of tags from specific conservation targets (the main one of which currently seems super buggy). At least Steve does says they’ll be reducing the number:

Then after you reach Rank 3 and get another 15k standing to buy the Helminth segment blueprint, building it requires 5 purple velocipods, which you can’t even lure and have to find randomly wandering the map – most of the velocipods I see are white, haven’t seen any green yet and only 3 purple. A bunch of people are asking DE to add a velocipod lure, which would also be a neat way to summon one to ride!
