Leaderboard: To which WoW expansion era will you send your Shadowlands alts first?

One of the more intriguing things about World of Warcraft Shadowlands, at least for me, is the game’s new leveling system. While brand-new accounts will have to play a tutorial and then Battle for Azeroth before pushing into Shadowlands, alts will have the opportunity to choose any of the expansions, including the Cataclysm vanilla zones or BFA, to level through on the journey to level 50, when the current content begins. Although alts can dip around in all the game’s zones as they choose, it’ll be possible to play from 10 to 50 in just one expansion, meaning you could have an alt that had never done more than, say, Burning Crusade.

Personally, while I think Wrath of the Lich King’s design philosophy was peak WoW, I actually loved the world and questing in Mists of Pandaria more. So if I were to go back and roll an alt, I’d probably want to replay those zones first. How about you? To which WoW expansion era will you send your Shadowlands alts first?

Legion class halls! I lost count how many times, during BfA, I’ve tried to figure out a path to level alts and while I found stuff to do all over the maps, level requirements everywhere were so time-wasting. And the most annoying bit was “ah damn this guy is faaaaar from Legion, grr, lets fill somehow, not Icecrown level either, how do I fill time now”.

One other thing I’ll love to try: follow Thassarian and Koltira questlines, hopping directly to the next chain! Like, from EPL to Icecrown (I hope it’s possible). There are others like that, too, where you meet again lore characters years after some events you lived with them.

Roll a dice. Ive played them all thoroughly enough that none of them are especially fun anymore.

I was going to do Legion again as thats the expansion I had the most fun, but Blizzard decided to de-activate the Artifacts so whats the point.

Mostly likely will return to Pandaria which was the expansion that came out when I first started playing WoW, but this time take more of an appreciation of the story as it really pulled me in.

I’m gonna do Cata simply because Twilight Highlands is the only expansion zone I’ve never finished. Every other zone from an expansion at least one of my toons has done but not Twilight for some reason.

Boost to SL’s content.

Tbh I never really experienced the post-Cata Vanilla zones outside of a few of the early ones. So that would be my second choice after WotLK.

I believe Eminem once said ‘Shadowlands Prepatch is dead, it’s locked in my basement hahaha!’

Definetly Warlords of Draenor. Ive read Chronicle books not long ago and there is so much lore in Draenor. Ive never fully played through WoD content which is one of the best in terms of questing and story.

TBC and Wrath are the least interesting for me, since Ive done them alot on private servers. And imo TBC is the most boring expansion in WoW for questing

Pandaria. Far better quest hub design than Lich King, where you get 15 quests and they’re all in different parts of the zone. Pandaria was the first expansion where you started to get quests in neat bundles of 2-4, and they’re all in the same area. Lich King was great back in the day, but now I’d rather pick Zandalar than Wrath.

BfA!

I kid, I kid.
I have to imagine the only people saying that are those that didn’t buy it and still are unaware of how execrable it is.
