Final Fantasy XI previews a lighter update for its October patch

The stuff that you have, does someone have a claim on it?

Here’s the bad news for Final Fantasy XI fans: The game’s October version update is going to be on the lighter side. The good news, on the other hand, is that the November update will be significantly larger, and the lighter update now is a direct result of loading the bases (so to speak) for next month’s update. Unfortunately, that means that the main thing you’ll have for the month are Ambuscade updates and a handful of item storage adjustments.

Of course, the Ambuscade content rotation alone is noteworthy, as players will be facing off against a Halloween-themed Mithra fight in which you need to manage food effects to avoid nasty status ailments like Amnesia, Silence, and Terror. There’s also a troll-based Ambuscade battle to take on, which should keep players occupied even during a light month of updates. Hey, the game is getting new story content again, that alone kind of justifies taking a light month.
