I realize the news cycle has been wild this week, so you may have missed the sad news that Van Halen co-founder Eddie Van Halen passed away after a battle with throat cancer. The death of a popular musician would normally not be something we cover on a gaming blog, but as it happens, Sea of Thieves has brought it to our doorstep anyway with a musical tribute to the legendary guitarist – which maybe shouldn’t surprise anyone, as the game’s devotion to authentic game music made with all kinds of bizarre and fun instruments is well-known.

“A tribute in our current Sea of Thieves style to a man whose talent and fun-loving spirit has had a huge influence on many members of the Rare family past and present, and will undoubtedly continue to do so. #RIPEddie.”
