The Daily Grind: Which MMO has the best playable cat race?

Despite the very real evidence that a feline lurks somewhere in my home, I am not what you would call a cat person. I don’t get the appeal of trying to cuddle with something that could produce little knives at a moment’s notice or attempting to get on the good side of a beast that is indifferent to me unless it wants food. And even then, it approaches me with the same patronizing reluctance that cheerleaders did in high school whenever they had to talk to me.

But cats are certainly popular — and not just as household pets. Many MMORPGs, both fantasy and scifi, have included some sort of playable feline race, from Elder Scrolls Online’s Khajiit to FFXIV’s Miqo’te to Star Trek Online’s Caitian. Even EverQuest II is throwing its collar into the ring this year with the addition of playable Vah Shir.

There are a lot of bipedal cats out there in the MMO space, but which is the best of them all? Which playable cat race do you like the most?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
