It’s time once more for another Guild Wars 2 sale. Specifically, the Path of Fire expansion has its price slashed in half (non-affiliate link), whether you get the standard or the deluxe edition. Additionally, both versions of the expansion will pack in Heart of Thorns expansion as well. The sale will be running until just after midnight on Sunday, November 22nd, so you’ll have just about a week to act on the deal if you’re so inclined.
On a semi-related note, if you happen to be buying in to the new expansion but it’s been a while since you last played, then you might be interested in a highlighted returning player guide created in May by YouTuber TiffyMissWiffy, which should carry you through what’s changed between the end of Scarlet’s War to the Path of Fire expansion. We’ve embedded that guide below for your viewing pleasure.
I actually redownloaded GW2 over the weekend and hopped into it for a moment. Immediately got annoyed at how character movement felt and for how old the game looks upping the graphics apparently wasn’t doable without stuttering/etc.
The engine is *heavily* CPU bound, so it misses out on all the amazing advances in gpu’s lately.
What about the LW Seasons, buying those costs more money than the HoT/PoF combo purchase at full price?
Gotta pay extra for living world. On top of expansions
Every 3 months. As is tradition.
Seriously so much content for the low low price of 50% off.
This happens every 2-3 months in some form, you can actually get this for 75% off on some third party sites.
Didn’t know Ubisoft took over nc soft with scheduled discounts.
Game was okish but if I get serious with it I will opt for the 75% year round discount codes on third party sites.
There are plenty.
Path of Fire at 50% off is a great deal.
My one complaint about their advertising is, they should not say it includes the Icebrood Saga and then make people dig into the details to see that it means only the episodes you log in for after buying PoF, not the start of it or any others that have passed.
Or any of the other seasons either, if you do a price break down all the LW content costs more than expansions at full price; it’s bad business practice and frankly if I came into the game as a new player I wouldn’t want to shell out that money. My wife is behind multiple seasons and she will not play GW2 because of this business practice either.
Do you really miss out on much for not doing LW stuff?
Like half of the story, it’s like binge watching the walking dead but only watching the first half of each season since the LW seasons continue the story at the end of the expansions story, for example season 3 covers every thing from the end of Heart of Thorns to Path of Fire.
