It’s been eight years of PlanetSide 2 and Daybreak Games is keen to celebrate with its anniversary update, which has arrived today for PC players.

As a form of celebration, every player can complete a special mission between now and November 30th to earn a platinum version of the NS-45 Pilot and an anniversary Loyalty decal, as well as earn double XP between now and November 26th. For those who like to celebrate anniversaries by spending money, there are new anniversary bundles for sale that not only have goodies stuffed inside but also provide progress towards a new Exceptional Directive that rewards a metallic multi-color Beetle Camo.

The update is also bringing some content as well in the form of the second chapter of Shattered Warpgate, with new events that move through the second stage of the story on Esamir, along with new side missions, equipment, and faction-specific technology to unlock. And for those who have been playing along through chapter one, all accrued items and currency will carry over to chapter two.

As mentioned above, the update is live already for PC players, while console players will get their anniversary update sometime next week.
