The Daily Grind: What are you thankful about in your MMO this month?

Creepy Black Spirit stares into your soul and wants to know… what makes you thankful for in MMO gaming right now? Be mindful that if you fail to answer, he will extract the truth from your psyche — and he will not be gentle.

Me? I’m thankful to have Shadowlands to play next week, plenty of great titles on the horizon, lots of interesting MMO news to keep me occupied, several tempting options for future play sessions, studios that have persevered under very trying circumstances to deliver content in 2020, and the fact that I still love these games nearly two decades after first getting into them.

What about you? What makes you genuinely thankful for right now in your online gaming?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!

My corner of the mmo universe exists with COH homecoming and there is a new issue in the near future + a holiday event whichever comes first.

Thankful for my new 4K HDR 49″ 120hz TV with VRR, Vsync and Gysnc(5.7ms input delay too!). Why you ask? Because now when MMORPGs disappoint me they are going to look really good doing it.😂

I’m extremely thankful that i got to experience Classic WoW again, and that (at least for now) it’s not going anywhere.

I’m thankful to the wonderful people keeping the Warhammer server up and running.

I am thankful for swtor’s new feature: Legacy ignore is love, legacy ignore is life. If only the principal could have doled out this feature in high school, i may have been normal.

I am thankful for the zombie invasion event that was in retail WoW this week. It was genuinely enjoyable to participate in such unpredictable gameplay – running around and trying to find creative ways to infect specific zones, teaming up with other people to do that, infecting all kind of NPCs and players. Especially clearing out the Goldshire inn from all people idling there on Moonguard ;-)

This was one and ONLY bright part of me trying out the current version of WoW – everything else was predictably awful in it, from people spamming political and racist/sexist/xenophobic discussions in Trade chat to boring quests and boring story in each and every zone I have tried with usual awful quest mechanics (“keep killing those NPCs until you will find enough body parts on them, first dozen of them will not have any necessary body parts then suddenly every NPC you will kill after that will have the necessary part”), awful cutscenes, awful instanced PvP, pointless crafting and utterly boring dungeons and raids.

Shame that the event is basically over but I got my $15 worth of entertainment out of that so I can cancel the sub yet again to maybe try the game out during the next fun event, if there will be any.

I’m just thankful that City of Heroes is back and better than when it left.

Im thankful to Blizzard for changing leveling system so I can explore varied expansions content and not outlevel it. Brings challenge and fun to do quests (particularly with my playing ruleset. ironman kinda).

OPening more stuff for F2P accounts was nice of them also.

Thanks for friends on WoW I log onto Wednesday morning of two weeks ago when I thought by the gods He was winning again. And they told me, “No He wasn’t and here’s why!” That really did save my sanity. >.<
