It looks like the multiplayer shooter Valorant is keen on trying to balance being a competitive video game as well as a digital place for social happenings. Much like a certain other shooter. Keep chasing that dragon, guys; you almost got its tail.

On the video game side of the coin, the latest patch has made a host of improvements to the Icebox map designed to simplify the A Site and reduce the height of some of its more vertical areas. The patch has also introduced some adjustments to Sage and added a 5v5 Snowball Fight deathmatch mode where players use a snowball launcher weapon and can collect power up gifts. The mode is in the patch but will not launch until December 15th, where it will run for two weeks until December 29th.

As for the digital social event side of the coin, Valorant will be part of wwFest, an “experiential music and art festival” in cooperation with Crown Channel, a Twitch channel that “combines the best of gaming and pop culture.” Valorant’s collaboration with wwFest will feature a modified version of the game’s battle map, transforming it into a digital exhibition of music performances and art installations that change theme every hour of the event’s six hours to tie to the vibe of the game’s character roster. wwFest is set to kick off on Friday, January 15th.
