This is not salvation.

Sad news this past weekend for the World of Warcraft community: cosplayer Jarod Lee Nandin, best known for his cosplay of the antagonist from South Park’s “Make Love Not Warcraft” episode, has passed away due to complications from COVID-19. His personal Twitter noted that he was having breathing troubles shortly before the new year, and it’s now been confirmed by his friends that he unfortunately lost his struggle with the illness.

Nandin was known to be an advocate for the WoW community aside from his cosplay, having appeared in Blizzard’s Looking for Group documentary and having spoken about the power of the community to various media outlets. He was also an advocate for cosplay positivity and kindness among the overall scene, with his best-known cosplay involving literally shaving his head while wheeling around the computer stand to mimic the character on the show. Our condolences to his friends and family alike in this difficult time.
