World of Warcraft previews the challenges and rewards of Torghast’s Twisting Corridors

Torghast in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands does not welcome intruders, but usually there’s a limit to how much progress you can make in a given run through its corridors. But the Twisting Corridors are different. If you’ve been keeping up with the weekly quests to plumb the tower, you should be able to access this optional challenge area now, and it certainly is a challenge. No soul ash to be earned here, just 18 floors of challenge as you clear through the endless layers one by one.

Of course, players will get something for making their way through these layers, with a special battle pet, mount, toy, and title all awaiting those who can clear the endless challenge of these halls. But this is meant as a challenge, so you shouldn’t necessarily expect to roll in and casually curbstomp the content just for showing up to play. Check out the full preview for a rundown of what to expect; it’s a difficult road ahead, but if you consider yourself an expert at the tower, now’s the time to take on a real challenge.

I’m loving how largely optional The Maw and Torghast are. I’ll get around to doing this eventually, but I’m in no rush… especially since I’m a Druid so the mount is meaningless to me.

I also love how paid content is useless and not worth playing!

If it wasnt for the mount thats usable in the maw, I would ignore this version of torghast. But the good thing is that since mounts are account bound I dont have to use my main, I can use one more suitable to steamroll through it. Although I havent tried yet, Ive heard its the same story for tanks, they steamroll it easier than pure dps classes. If that stays stable ill be leveling my paladin asap.

Crafting mats and garbage loot? With an endless grind mill?

No thanks.

One more reason to throw this train wreck of an expansion onto the trash heap.

Just because an expansion runs good and is relatively bug free does not mean the content is any good. And this expansion really stinks.

Just my 2c. I am sure lots of folks are really enjoying it. I hope it lasts for them.

I’m trying so hard to like this expansion but its just not clicking with me. I didn’t like the questing like I thought I would. While the story was interesting it just felt like it was dragged on just for leveling purposes. I didnt feel like I could be free to do what I want to level (like I could in Legion and BFA). Well I did like the revendreth storyline towards the end, that was fun. And the torghast stuff was fun.

When I finally made it to end game, I went Kyrian on my arms warrior, and then did some world quests. Its just not fun. I feel I have to work to get to the fun stuff. Maybe I’ll try again in a few weeks, but right now its not drawing me in.

Legion was the BEST time I ever had in WoW and it doesn’t look like they can capture that magic again.

I have a blast in torghast. I love how I dont feel like I need to grind it. I can just run it once or twice for fun, every few days, and be done. Thats how games SHOULD be imo. You play them because they are fun, not because you feel like you have to.

Looking forward to this new challenge.
