Dauntless plans to introduce gear level requirements for public hunts soon

It’s important to try to be as prepared as possible when entering a public hunt in Dauntless, but apparently there have been enough players entering these hunts without appropriate gear and enough demand from players to necessitate the introduction of hard gear level requirements. So that’s just what the devs at Phoenix Labs are doing.

This feature was recently added to the game’s shiny new roadmap in the production section and is reportedly set to go live in the future according to the game’s Twitter. This will basically do what it says on the tin: enforce a minimum level requirement for public hunts like Hunting Grounds. Private hunts will not be affected by this feature.

I thought I had something clever to say… but since I don’t play this game and probably never will, I’m pretty sure my opinions about it don’t matter to anyone. So… beep beep imma sheep.

Omg if this means fewer failed island events because of extremely undergeared/ignorant players I’m so happy.

just after the big rework it was rarely if ever a problem, but I haven’t played in a bit. How often does it happen now?

I’ve had it happen quite often lately unfortunately, mainly in the 11+ islands, lots of bad set ups, wrong elements for the job, not knowing how weapon mechanics work etc. Seeing 6+ slayers down waiting for the timer to run out on the event has been an all too common sight for me lately.

that kind of makes sense to me. Once you go above 10, gear can’t carry you the same way as earlier. But if you don’t even have the gear for 10+ it’s extremely unlikely you posses the player knowledge and mastery needed to succeed.
