Massively OP’s MJ still has more fishing and resource gathering to do in order to craft her archwing in
Warframe, but before she delves into that she needs to take her Rank 9 Gold Mastery Test. Yes, a test on a Friday! As always, she is going into the test blind for her first attempt, like a pop quiz of sorts. Sometimes this works for her, sometimes it backfires. Tune in live at 8:00 p.m.to see if MJ passes the test before heading back to Eidolon for some relaxing fishing. Or maybe getting some Star Days wings.

Mastery Rank tests are a remnant of a not so accessible past that Warframe just cant seem to get rid of. In addition it can be confusing to many new and average players (ie: How do you actually gain mastery? Where do you go to rank up? Do you still gain mastery towards the next rank if you dont rank up? etc etc.) While I know the answers to these questions, its not very apparent to new and casual player, and can be one element of the game that pushes them away from coming back to play.
Then you have the annoyance and frustration of SOME of the tests being completely absurd in what they require you to do to pass them. Doing things that you never actually have to do in actual gameplay.
Again… these tests, and the mastery system has been around since the earlier days of Warframe, and it needs a BIG revamp because it really serves no purpose
Maybe, but I’m not sure they’ll ever change it. They seem to be weirdly willing to lean into “sunk cost” arguments sometimes. Like how they refuse to adjust the absurdly high cost of the Hema research “because it would devalue the efforts of the people who earned it at that price.” Like… really?
As for the Mastery test: You don’t have Ivara, who can just turn invisible. There’s a couple little things that can help, if you want.
And Spoilers fold because you probably don’t. ^-^
The Xoris might be a good choice if you practice with it, because it gives you ranged attacks with a melee weapon. You can frisbee them in the back of the head while safely hiding behind a wall, without having to run up behind them.
If you have a mod called “Enemy Sense” that can help, because it will cause all of the ones near you to show up as red triangles on the mini-map. You can see where they are, and which way they’re facing. It makes it a lot less frustrating to get behind them and not get spotted by That Guy Standing Just Around The Corner.
The “Familial Debt Bonds” are pretty rare. I’ve been doing stuff at random in Fortuna for ages, and I had less than a hundred. That’s compared to over a thousand of a couple of the other types. They’re just *really* hard to get on short notice.
OnO
yay ppfft
Sorry, not trying to discourage. I’m not very good at being consoling, I guess. Normally it doesn’t matter, because they’re only needed for a few things to hit max rank and maybe a crafting project. Rather than being the currency for an adorable floof. :(
The only way to get them other than as Bounty rewards is to fight Profit Taker, apparently. And she’s gated behind a really steep reputation grind. There’s still a few days before the event ends, but I know you have a lot of other stuff to take care of and rarely have time for Warframe outside the streaming slot.
I wish they were tradeable.
Oh you were fine! The ppfft was toward Warframe. I know I can’t put the time and grind in for so much, and I try not to worry about it because that just won’t be changing anytime. But I just woulda liked a snuggly puffy floof. Once in a while my limitations sting. All the more reason to snoogle a floof!
