So a while back I was thinking of rolling up a new Mastermind on the City of Heroes rogue servers I play, and so I naturally went to the forums to check with the expert build min-maxers to see whether the pairings I had in mind are any good.
Friends, they are definitely not any good.
I had been considering a Mercenaries or Ninja build, since I haven’t even looked at either since live, and really not even much then, since they had a reputation for kinda sucking. And they still suck, at least on this server, which more or less sticks to the original balance of the game, which blows my mind. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it. The original devs let them suck for seven years! The rogue server devs are volunteers and busy with a zillion other things to do besides completely overhauling sets that would be unpopular because of their graphics even if they were powerful. I get it. And yet… these powersets have been around since 2005. It’s kinda wild that they’re still in this state, basically going to waste.
What class (or spec or class combo or build or whatever ya got) in your current main MMO seriously needs some love?
