The Daily Grind: What inspires you to try an MMO again?

Not bad.

Working around MMOs means that you have a certain amount of impetus and opportunity to try out games you played in the past, often including games that you thought were a bit lackluster before. My personal feelings toward The Elder Scrolls Online, for example, were changed from the game I’d played just before launch; when I played the current version of the game back when I ran our Choose My Adventure column, that was when my interest went from “meh” to “actually, this isn’t half bad.”

However, a lot of people go back and try MMOs they didn’t like before in hopes of forming a different opinion this time around. Whether or not it’s successful, the point is that the attempt is made, and often made many times. So what inspires you to try an MMO again? Is it hearing buzz from others? A major update or change, possibly one you had been hoping for for ages? A major shift in who works on the game? Let us know!

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
