WRUP: Pinball scoring guide

Multiball Frenzy: Hit all seven of the rear bumpers to activate multiball, which doubles your score.

Multiball Disappointment: Hit three of the rear bumpers and then totally fail to hit more despite frantically hitting the machine with both hands to activate multiball anyway but have your score halved because screw you.

Bumper Upgrades: Hit the side bumpers three times to upgrade the front bumpers. Each upgrade doubles their point values. Hit the front bumpers four times to upgrade the side bumpers. Each upgrade halves their point values, because how are you getting back there, you jerk? You’re tilting the machine.

Tilt Bonus: Tilting the machine earns quadruple points if the manager has to yell at you.

Hammer Frenzy: Realizing you just wasted $50 on trying to max out your score here activates Hammer Frenzy, in which you try to smash the damn game with a hammer and then talk about it in What Are You Playing. This doubles your points, then triples it, then multiplies the final value by 0 because points are made up.

Bonus question: What’s your favorite breakfast meal?

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): It’s so weird to be an adult with all these Pokemon game options. Go to help me keep losing the COVID calories (and gaining some spooky themed Pokemon), a Master-ranked Pokemon Unite player took me under their wing for random ranked matches so I gotta earn my keep, and I really feel like I gotta at least do a level or two in New Pokemon Snap. The new Monster Hunter Stories 2 content’s kicked my butt pretty hard, so I’ll train up a bit for that.

Oh man, pancakes are just the best. I eat a lot of eggs and granola, but if I’m gonna cheat, it’s gonna be a stack of flapjacks, with butter and syrup between each layer.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Queue World, of course! I rerolled on a low-queue New World server, actually, and have already caught up to where I was on the original server, so I’ll do that some more. We’re also still building the deck IRL, so I’ll have plenty of chores too, but games in between.

Favorite breakfast is hard. Breakfast is my favorite period. Does it have to be realistic? I’d go mad without eggs. Any eggs, any way. If calories count for nothing, then french toast, but like, really good french toast, on good fluffy bread, with butter and syrup so rich it shouldn’t even be legal.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I would like to say I’ll be playing New World, but the weekend queues are likely only going to get worse instead of better. Maybe I’ll be able to squeeze into my chosen server in-between my two jobs when most people aren’t playing. That gives me a little time to do some random gathering and crafting and exploration. Otherwise, I’ll likely just gear up my Dancer in Final Fantasy XIV or pootle around in a spaceship in Elite Dangerous.

I’ll be honest, my favorite breakfast meal is pretty much garbage: a sausage egg and cheese bagel from Dunkin’, along with whatever coffee may strike my fancy when I’m there. What can I say? I love the big chonky breakfast sandwich.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): So the media tour got me all excited for Final Fantasy XIV again (it was always just below the surface), so I’ll be finding some edge cases of stuff to do before the expansion and getting that out of the way.

Nothing beats a nice corn beef hash, hash browns, and some nice fluffy french toast for a breakfast. Well, aside from not eating a day’s worth of calories in one meal, but compromises are what they are.

Mia DeSanzo (@neschria): Unlike everyone else, I won’t be playing New World at this time. I might play Genshin Impact to appease the teen in my house. I almost certainly will put more time into my very last No Man’s Sky Steam achievement. I can ignore achievements when I have 3 out of 74, but when there’s only one left, I feel compelled to do it.

Breakfast? I like a croissant and coffee. Or a fried egg on toast with coffee. I am not complicated.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I’ll largely be playing New World. I’ve been trying for several days but I think the server queue is simply too long for this old boy. So I’ll give in and find a new server. I think my Crowfall guild has coordinated on a server so I’ll probably head that way unless it’s too full as well. On the single player game front I’ve been having way more fun than I imagined playing Curse of the Dead Gods. It’s basically Hades but replace Greek mythology with Aztec.

Bonus: For breakfast give me some Greek yogurt with a dollop of almond butter mixed in. Sounds kind of weird but it’s so good!

Tyler Edwards (blog): New World, queues permitting. Plus I got a D&D session.

Bonus question: Didn’t we do this question pretty recently? Anyway, my go-to is a slice of toast with peanut butter. I don’t have much appetite in the mornings.
