Bonus question: Do you like classical music?

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): I have a board game thing to prep for, but Animal Crossing is gonna get some time for sure. My community’s been back and cooking recipes are all the rage.

I’m guessing classical means classical western music, right? Yeah, mostly for the darker, heavier stuff. I love the Dies Irae in Symphonie Fantastique, and In the Hall of the Mountain King and Night on Bald Mountain (you know the part, Disney fans) are classical classics. If we’ll allow modern stuff, Riddle of Steel/Riders of Doom, Imperial March, and of course, Duel of Fates.

Andy McAdams: Fell back into The Elder Scrolls Online with New World still trying to figure out which canisters have gasoline and which are fire extinguishers for their dumpster fire fighting efforts. Probably RimWorld because RimWorld. I also downloaded the launcher for Final Fantasy XIV last night and debating whether to resub or not.

Bonus question: I love strings. Cello and violin especially, but fiddle and string quartet stuff is great too.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’m dabbling again… I’ve been tinkering in City of Heroes, restocking in Star Wars Galaxies Legends, and I’m not sure what after that. I’ve been setting up phones for a week or two (got a new one, passing my old one down), so maybe I’ll pop into Albion Online there.

Yep, but I’m very particular about it. Specific instrumentation annoys me, and I tend to prefer early 20th century. And I have to be in the mood for it.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): You ever have those times when you have a specific gaming appetite but are unsure what will satiate it? Yeah, that’s me this weekend. In other words, I’m not really sure what my weekend is looking like, honestly. Probably some more Forza Horizon 5. Yeah, that’ll do.

I enjoy classical music, but much like Bree I have to be in the right mood for it, and that mood does not strike me terribly often, if I’m honest. Still, there are those rare moments when it’s good to listen to.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Not sure just yet. Maybe some last idle bits of FFXIV prep ahead of the expansion? Unfortunately the next big set of gaming projects I have don’t start until next week, so I’m a bit at loose ends this weekend.

I honestly used to like classical music a lot more than I do now; I think years of playing in strings in high school kind of took their toll on me. Alas.

Larry Everett (@Shaddoe): I actually have a website to build this weekend, so I am unsure if I will be able to do much gaming at all. But if I do, I will probably finish decorating my latest castle build in Conan Exiles. I have great respect for the Gcam mod, which has some amazing Black Ice pieces to build a more historically accurate castle.

I like and appreciate classical music, but I usually don’t listen to it unless someone has a new take on it. Classical-style music, which I would term as music that sounds classical but was written in the modern era, is one of my go-tos when I need to focus on something without distraction.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): With Halloween events over, I’ve lost one of my main gaming vices. Still though, I’ll be playing New World. It’s crazy just how slow the leveling curve is now. I went from clicking along leveling at a nice pace to a level every couple evenings. I really want to get into some of the PvP properly in the game but it’s just taking me forever to level. Other than that I’ve started playing something called Cristales. I don’t know if it’s going to be any good yet but I’m willing to give it a shot.

I do enjoy classical music. I would never seek it out or put it on for casual listening but if I’m ever somewhere that it’s playing I always feel calmed.
