EverQuest II’s Visions of Vetrovia blew up on the launchpad (but it got better)

You may be totally excused for not noticing that a major MMO expansion launched yesterday, because it kind of didn’t. EverQuest II: Visions of Vetrovia technically went live in the sense of “but you can’t play it because the servers are totally down.”

Shortly after the release of the expansion, Daybreak took down the servers “to address a database issue.” Players were understandably delighted. The downtime ended up stretching to nine hours before the game service was restored, which isn’t exactly how you want to spend launch day.

Visions of Vetrovia takes players to an ancient continent full of the supernatural and, it appears, a ton of dinosaurs. The expansion raises the level cap to 125 and adds a slew of new dungeons, raids, and zones. Here are the full patch notes for your reading approval.
