The Daily Grind: Would you play an Avatar: The Last Airbender MMO?

A few weeks back, there was a rumor circulating on entertainment websites and Reddit about a supposed Avatar: The Last Airbender MMORPG. According to the (totally unconfirmed and unsubstantiated) rumors, the MMORPG is one of several games being built for the IP “at undisclosed game studios in collaboration with Paramount’s Avatar Studios” and coming “much sooner than you think.” Basically, the rumor has no useful details at all and came from a fan site, which is why we’re not covering it as a sure thing, but it’s certainly plausible, given the obvious tie-ins with the live-action remake.

But it’s still fun to ponder, right? I don’t know much about the ATLA franchise or fandom, but I also have nothing against it and just want to see more MMORPGs period. I bet we have some fans here who could see exactly how an MMO would work in-universe.

Do you want this? Would you play a Last Airbender MMO? What would a good take even look like?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
