You probably know this if you’ve been here long enough, but there was a time when I was known as “the City of Heroes guy” instead of “the Final Fantasy XIV guy.” CoH was important to me. It was a popular game I covered for a long while and covered well, and when it unexpectedly shut down I was gutted. Like, seriously, there were times writing about its closure that very literally made me cry. It was deeply emotional for me in a way that no other shutdown has ever quite matched, although WildStar came close.
